Early
Achievements

Manuel Jorquera, born in Argentina and raised in Italy, is a distinguished figure in the world of tennis. 

From an early age, Manolo displayed exceptional talent and potential. He was first crowned national champion of Argentina in the under 10 age group, before winning the under 12 and under 14 Italian championships. He won more than 50 national and international tournaments as a junior, including the prestigious BNP Paribas Open de Jeunes in Paris.

Unfortunately, Manolo’s promising future was abruptly halted by a fractured wrist which kept him away sporadically from the tennis court for almost three years.

In spite of the injury, he demonstrated unbelievable resilience to rebuild the pathway to professional tennis.

As a professional player he reached the highest ranking of 136 in doubles and 305 in singles of the ATP World Ranking and claimed several ATP Challengers and ITF futures titles. Manolo also played in first and second division league in Italy, France and Germany for over 10 years.

Coaching
expertise

Manuel’s coaching philosophy is built on discipline, professionalism, and a deep love for the sport.

Manolo shifted his focus to coaching, completing the ATP & WTA Professional Course at the 2012 Wimbledon Championships, exclusively offered to former professional players.

Manolo’s professional certifications include the title of Italian Tennis Master, certified by the ITF, and Coach Level 3 from Tennis Canada as a high performance and professional coach. Manolo also holds internationally recognized USPTA and PTR coaching licenses.

Over the years, he has attended international seminars, in numerous ITF Regional and Worldwide Coaches Conferences in Cancun, Antalya and Beijing, absorbing cutting-edge coaching techniques and strategies. He also attended the International Coaches Symposium during the Rome ATP & WTA Masters 1000 tournament.

His expertise has enabled many players to achieve significant professional accomplishments, including NCAA scholarships, reflecting his effective mentorship and training methods.

Manuel’s influence has been profound and far-reaching. His ability to produce champions is unmatched.

In his leadership roles, Manolo has consistently demonstrated profound influence and administrative acumen. As the Honorary Tournament Director for the 2014 Guangzhou ATP Challenger, the first ATP event ever held in Guangzhou, he was instrumental in its planning and execution. 

During his time in China, he significantly impacted the development of young talents, producing 4 Chinese national champions in the 12, 14, 16 and under 18 categories.

His leadership extended to managing comprehensive training programs and coaching teams, significantly enhancing the regional tennis landscape.

During his journey as Director of Player Development at the Hong Kong China Tennis Association (HKCTA), Manuel has continued to spread his knowledge, his vision and ultimately his passion for the sport by contributing to the development of top junior players and of the overall tennis industry in Hong Kong.

Since 2022, Manolo has been pivotal in shaping the futures of countless junior and professional players.

His role involved overseeing the development programs, coaching high-potential players, and preparing them for international competitions.

Under his guidance, players have not only developed their game, but have also achieved important victories in junior international team competitions such as Junior Davis Cup and ITF Asia Team Competition, among others.
